Men's Intensive Workshop
Intimacy Seekers presents a workshop for men facilitated by Michael Christian, NCC, LPC-MHSP, in partnership with Mark Laaser, Ph.D.
The Men's Intensive Workshop is a three day experience (Thursday 1 p.m. to Saturday 5 p.m.) of teaching and group interaction. The focus of the workshop is not just on strategies to stop compulsive sexual behaviors, but on getting below the surface and understanding the needs and hurts that drive them.
The workshop format is flexible, depending upon the needs of the group. There is a healthy variety of lecture, group discussion, and individual reflection. Participants experience a large and small group setting with each led by a trained facilitator.
The workshop is great for men who are new to recovery as well as those who are looking for additional insights and help. At the workshop you will learn about the spiritual, emotional, and neurochemical basis for addiction. You will be helped to rediscover your heart and come to understand the importance of your feelings which serve as the window to your heart. You will learn many more things in the context of a supportive environment, surrounded by men who understand your struggle because they have been there themselves. You will leave the workshop with a renewed spirit and motivation to implement a practical recovery plan for success.
The workshop is conducted on the campus of Trevecca Community Church located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. The workshop location is approximately 15 minutes west of the Nashville International Airport. There are a number of hotels in the area that will accommodate your lodging needs. The office will be glad to assist you as you make travel and lodging arrangements.
