Speaking venues include Bible study groups, college campus groups, church groups, corporate groups, etc. Topics vary depending upon the audience. Workshops / Conferences / Retreats
Michael has been a presenter at AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors) and AMFM (Association of Marriage and Family Ministry) conferences as well as a variety of other workshops, conferences and retreats. Michael has a strong passion to connect with people in these settings. His objective is to help people find a solution to the problems they face. Some examples of his workshops include:
Marriage 911
This is a two day marriage intensive for couples. Each couple has the opportunity to sit with a trained therapist and develop understanding and skills necessary to work through barriers that hinders the couple from experiencing intimacy and satisfaction in their relationship.
Many couples choose the Marriage 911 intensive because their relationship is near the breaking point. Rather than spending weeks in conjoint therapy, the couple is able to get right to the issues and seek a mutually agreed upon win-win solution.
The object of the intensive is to help the couple reach a place where they feel safe with each other and are able to experience a deeper level of intimacy. After the two-day intensive, the couple will return to their therapist and continue working to create a fulfilling marriage relationship.
Sexual Integrity Workshop
This workshop is offered in a three day format. The workshop is for men who are searching for freedom from compulsive sexual behavior. This workshop includes teaching and small group interaction led by Michael Christian and other qualified therapists. This workshop helps participants get below the surface of their behaviors and arrive at an understanding of their basic needs and hurts that drive them.
Participants will find the format to be flexible and includes a variety of lectures, group discussion, and individual times to process assignments. This workshop is ideal for both individuals who are new to the recovery process and those who are looking to expand their recovery experiences. If you are in an area where individual or group counseling is not available, then follow-up counseling is offered as a way to help attendees take the next steps when you arrive back home.
This workshop is provided in the Nashville, Tennessee area, usually within a 20 minute drive from the Nashville International Airport. However, the workshop can be brought to your area as well. The Three Day Sexual Integrity Workshop agenda includes topics like: Sex Addiction 101; Family of Origin Dynamics; Trauma and Woundedness; Learning From Your Fantasy; Your Personal Recovery Plan; and Taking The Next Step In Recovery.
Single Sexuality Workshop
This is a three day workshop based on the teachings found in Soul Virgins, a movement involving single adults who have committed to live counter-culture lives with regards to their sexuality. This movement is pioneered by Dr. Doug Rosenau, psychologist, certified sex therapist and best selling author. Physical virginity is clearly taught in the Bible. However, many today have lost their physical virginity. Soul virginity involves pursuing God’s heart about single adult sexuality. Even those who have lost their physical virginity can commit themselves to soul virginity and maintain sexual purity. This workshop includes topics like: What it takes to live the life of a Soul-Virgin and why it matters anyway: The three basic relationship stages and how each necessarily builds upon the other toward finding your soulmate; How you can be more deliberate and intentional in romantic relationships; The keys to finding balance in relationships; The difference between your sexuality, erotic sexual behaviors and true sex; etc.
Married Sex Workshop
This is a one or two day workshop that is designed to define healthy sexuality in marriage. This workshop is filled with humor and practical exercises that will help a couple discover God’s original design for a healthy and mutually satisfying sexual relationship within the marriage.
Intimate Marriages Workshop
This workshop is offered in a one or two day format. Whether you are newly married or have been married for years, you will find this workshop helpful. Many couples struggle when it comes to experiencing intimacy in their marriage. Genesis 2:24 provides an excellent Biblical model for all married couples in the 21st century. Here we find God’s definitive statement regarding marriage. During this workshop you will receive a variety of tools that will assist you as you learn to communicate better, do conflict so both spouses win, discover the components of a healthy marital relationship, experience a mutual satisfying sex life, etc.
